NORTHERN STATE BANK OF VIRGINIA

PERSONAL BANKER

The Personal Banker is responsible for delivering quality and professional customer service while building relationships and proposing products, services, and digital solutions to help customers succeed financially.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist current and prospective customers with information, products, and services to meet their financial needs

· Handle all tasks associated with opening and closing personal and business deposit accounts, complete service requests, and submit credit applications

· Identify potential fraud/risky accounts and take appropriate action to prevent loss

· Refer customer financial needs to other bankers as needed

· Issue and troubleshoot problems with customer debit cards

· Assist customers with opening/closing safe deposit boxes and safe deposit box entry

· Answer telephone and respond professionally to customer inquiries and needs

· Order customer checks

· Maintain and balance cash drawer in accordance with policies and procedures

· Verify and maintain records of cash in and cash out; balance cash and other transactions

· Process customer requests for teller products and services; including cashier’s checks, gift cards, etc.

· Process and balance coin through the coin machine; bag coins for shipment

· Verify, log, and process night drop and mail transactions

· Ensure compliance with banking regulations and bank policies and procedures

· Promote bank and cross sell bank products and services which align with customer needs

· Actively participate in community activities

· Perform other related duties as assigned

· Ongoing employment is contingent on meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results

Job Requirements and Qualifications

· One to three years’ banking experience interacting with customers demonstrated through one or a combination of work, experience, training, and education

· Positive attitude with willingness to grow and succeed

· High school diploma

· Excellent customer service, communication, and sales skills

· High level of accuracy and timeliness, attention to detail

· Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

· High degree of integrity and drive for excellence

· Strong aptitude for problem-solving

· Customer service focus with experience in complex transactions across multiple systems

· Cash handling experience

· Working knowledge of banking practices, rules, and regulations

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
